Why fell running?: I love flying downhill in a slightly uncontrolled manner, I enjoy the friendly atmosphere at races and the camaraderie between fellow athletes.

Favourite Race(s) why?: Kilnsey Show - the pre-race hype about how to tackle the chimney, the kamikaze descent which is over before you know it and the lively show.

Greatest achievements (or disasters!): Finishing 2nd at Muker Show in 2009, having arrived at the show 5 minutes before the race started.

Do you follow a training programme?: A typical XC runners programme - Need to do more on the fells

What is your weekly mileage?: About 60-70 miles per week, mainly on local footpaths and roads

Who is your sporting hero / villain!: Matthew LeTissier. (I'm a big Southampton fan!).

Favourite food: Pizza, with lots of meat on it.

Favourite drink: Copper Dragon's Golden Pippin

Favourite music / band: U2, Foo fighters

Favourite movie / TV programme: I'm a closet Harry Potter fan (not any more you're not!..Ed).

Do you have any other hobbies?: Orienteering and Mountain Biking
